Do Not Be Afraid

If everything in life is not going as planned, do not give up on yourself, for there is something out there that is waiting for you and calling out your name. You might not realize it for a long time, but to every bad situation comes a good one. No matter how bad the situation is, DO NOT give up. No matter how difficult events can get, no matter what position you are in, you never give up. Giving up is the Devil's way of defeating you. He laughs at you and watches you struggle. He feeds off your broken heart and whispers "You are worthless." He tries to destroy you, until everything in your body stops and gives up all at once. There is nothing left but the last heartbeat. Your existence is only a memory, and you have given up. Do not let the Devil control you and tell you how to live your life. When situations are too tough to handle, turn away from the evil monster who follows you and turn to the angel who has been protecting you  and cheering you on all along. Do not be afraid of failure. Do not be afraid at all. There will always be someone there to guide you along the way, even in the deepest, darkest hours of your life.

In Cleveland, it's All or Nothing.

October baseball is the most thrilling, chilling, and adrenaline-pumping time of the year. The Cleveland Guardians (formerly known as the Indians) have had their fair share of postseason play over the years, but have not won the World Series since 1948.  For many Clevelanders, postseason baseball is everything. There's no greater feeling than being at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, where you never know what's going to happen. Every game, every pitch thrown, every time up to bat- it's all just a game of chance. These players have been working their butts off to be here, to show the fans, especially after this roller-coaster season, that they want it all. They have put in the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears to show up and bring life back Cleveland has been looked down upon for many years, for many different reasons. The one thing about Cleveland is that we are the underdogs, and we don't go down without a fight. Like David and Goliath, the Guardians have gone up a...

The Eve of Everything

Every eve of the new year, we are faced with this sentimental thought: what did I achieve this past year? Every person has a different list with different goals, different memories, and different outcomes. We all experienced the year, but each one of us is on a different path, experiencing something different each day. Some of us lost loved ones, and everything crumbled beneath our feet like an unexpected earthquake. Some of us graduated, got married, and had kids. Some of us experienced breakups that either crushed us or gave us our life back. Regardless of what you experienced this past year, please know that your journey is not going to be the same as everyone else.  God is literally the author of all of our lives. We are our own main characters. We will go through our own plots, experience different conflicts, face highs and lows, and in time, reach our endings. Everything we are experiencing is like a journey we're destined to travel through. It's not a race, but a journe...

In the Blink of Christmas Morning

It’s 6:00 a.m. The house is quiet, everyone still asleep, but you burst from your bed with excitement. You rush down the hall to your parents’ room, screaming and cheering until they wake up. Then you sprint to the living room, where the presents sit waiting beneath the tree. Soon, everyone is gathered together, tearing open wrapping paper. Your dad is recording every moment on the video camera, your mom beaming with joy, smiling ear to ear as she watches you open your gifts. All is right with the world. You blink, and suddenly, twenty years have passed, and everything is different. You no longer care about the presents under the tree; you are simply grateful to be surrounded by family. There is no rushing anymore, just going with the flow. You do not worry about how much food is on your plate, and you go back for seconds because it is all just that good. The day slips by in the blink of an eye, and before you know it, you are back home, lying in your bed. ... The years have passed fa...
