Do you ever just wish that you could fall out of love with someone? You cannot stop thinking about them, nor do you ever find yourself not talking about them. You fell hard and fast for this person, and nothing can change how you feel. This journey with him continues down a long path. This road keeps growing, longer and longer, until eventually time runs out, and you have moved on to someone new. But does one really move on from a past love? Why is it that it is so easy to fall into love, rather than to fall out of love? Love can be extremely toxic, but the adventure is breathtaking. The heartbreak, the tears, and the emotional butterflies, all have a large impact in this world of love. Without love, we would be blind, cold, Earth would be nonexistent. We need love to survive. Love will affect you in wonderful ways, and we must all remind ourselves that love is simply the greatest factor in life. When our hearts break, we must pick up the pieces as if it never happened. We all must love unconditionally, without the fears of heartbreak and rejection. Ignoring all of the negative factors can simply make us more unique to loving one another, and to loving ourselves.
I was 17, on a flight to the Bahamas for a family vacation, when I first listened to the Wicked Broadway soundtrack. Staring out the window at the endless clouds, I felt like I was soaring right alongside Elphaba as she defied gravity. That music stayed with me, becoming a soundtrack to a summer I’ll never forget. Years later, sitting in the audience at Playhouse Square, I watched the story come to life on stage, and it changed me “for good.” So, when the movie finally came out, I walked into the theater with high hopes—and let me tell you, I was utterly blown away. Wicked: Part 1 was released in November 2024, directed by Jon M. Chu, starring Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
