This life is pure as gold

Life is an exploration. We are continuously discovering new ideas, embracing our true colors, and loving one another unconditionally. We hold the key to our own happiness. Life is not something that should be taken for granted, but instead a gift we must treasure. There are many moments in this life in which we have the power to choose good over evil, and to embrace every single glorious moment this life has to offer. We are simply the rulers of this life, the kings and queens of ourselves. In the darkest of times, we turn to each other for light and for peace. We should not lose sight of those who are most important to us, especially when the world begins to turn dark and cold. We rely on each other for help, because with ourselves, we can conquer almost any obstacle thrown our way. Life is all about love, and with love we can embrace all things. With that, this life we all are currently living is truly as pure as gold.

The Life of a Showgirl: When Taylor Swift Lets the Spotlight Dim

While it’s no surprise that we’re big Taylor Swift fans in this household, something about this newest album release felt different. On the eve of the drop, anticipation ran high. Some of us drifted off to sleep with visions of glitter, feathers, and showgirls twirling in our minds. Others fueled up on caffeine, determined to stay awake until the clock struck twelve. And when it did—on October 3—we were ready for it. But this time, I chose sleep. The next morning, headphones in hand, I pressed play as soon as I woke up—and almost immediately, I felt something shift. Taylor’s music has always been deeply relatable—that’s never been in question. The Life of a Showgirl follows the forever-endearing The Tortured Poets Department, an album I adored with every ounce of my being. That record proved what so many of us already knew: Taylor is a poet at large. Naturally, expectations for this new album were sky-high. The Life of a Showgirl promised to peel back the curtain—to reveal life beyond ...

Congratulations! You're engaged!  Now is supposed to be the happiest time of your life. You get to marry the man or woman you love, plan a giant party (or a small one, if you prefer) with all your close friends and family, and wear the most beautiful gown. If any of these things make you anxious, you are not alone. Many brides feel overwhelmed during their "Engaged Era," and many don't get the support they need when feeling this way.  While this is an exhilarating time, your nerves and anxieties are valid. The second you get that ring on your finger, your personal life and boundaries go right out the door, and everyone wants to know every detail, even some that you haven't even planned out or thought about yet! When is the date? Where did you get your dress? What does it look like? But here's the thing: no one asks how you are doing.  Here is my hot take: society has made weddings so impractical and unreasonable that any bride-to-be feels overwhelmed. Everythi...
