Love your future. Forget your past.

Right now, everything seems dark and cold. The black skies in your mind are haunted by a deep, saddened past, and you cannot escape the turmoil it has brought you. The never-ending days are filled with loss of energy, strength, and happiness. You cannot help but feel lost in your own deep and saddened thoughts of what you think you did wrong. Your past demons haunt your ever-present days that have seemingly different actions than you ever imagined. There is greatness from an outside light that is trying to shine unbreakable rays into this dark and twisted force that has taken over your entire body. Eventually, this light will crack the dark core of your past, and your cold heart will be melted away for good.

The past is the past for a reason. We must move past this saddened affair like a snake shedding its skin. It's a new cycle of wanting a new life for yourself, to learn and grow from our past mistakes. There is nothing more riveting than taking in a new adventure with open arms, without fear of what is to follow. Learning to love and trust yourself is a scary and terrifying experience, but it becomes of much worth when things work out for the best.

One day, you are going to find the uttermost happiness again, and all of your broken pieces from your heart will become whole again. When this happens, do not ever give up on yourself, the ones who love you, and the future that is to come. All is dark right now, but the warmth is coming. Do not wait around for it to pass you by, but take it on without fear.

The tears start flowing and cannot stop. You can't breathe, and everything else starts to feel heavy. There's an empty void that cannot be filled, and your chest begins to break in two.  This was the best time of your life, but now it's all starting to hit you in a million pieces.  The one person who should be here- your rock, your stability in an uneasy balance, the glue that has held you together- is not here. Your mom.  ... It's no secret that I have been through more obstacles than I'd like to admit. Several of these obstacles occurred when I least expected them, like a ...

The Life of a Showgirl: When Taylor Swift Lets the Spotlight Dim

While it’s no surprise that we’re big Taylor Swift fans in this household, something about this newest album release felt different. On the eve of the drop, anticipation ran high. Some of us drifted off to sleep with visions of glitter, feathers, and showgirls twirling in our minds. Others fueled up on caffeine, determined to stay awake until the clock struck twelve. And when it did—on October 3—we were ready for it. But this time, I chose sleep. The next morning, headphones in hand, I pressed play as soon as I woke up—and almost immediately, I felt something shift. Taylor’s music has always been deeply relatable—that’s never been in question. The Life of a Showgirl follows the forever-endearing The Tortured Poets Department, an album I adored with every ounce of my being. That record proved what so many of us already knew: Taylor is a poet at large. Naturally, expectations for this new album were sky-high. The Life of a Showgirl promised to peel back the curtain—to reveal life beyond ...

Bride Survival Guide: The Truth About Being a Bride

Congratulations! You're engaged!  Now is supposed to be the happiest time of your life. You get to marry the man or woman you love, plan a giant party (or a small one, if you prefer) with all your close friends and family, and wear the most beautiful gown. If any of these things make you anxious, you are not alone. Many brides feel overwhelmed during their "Engaged Era," and many don't get the support they need when feeling this way.  While this is an exhilarating time, your nerves and anxieties are valid. The second you get that ring on your finger, your personal life and boundaries go right out the door, and everyone wants to know every detail, even some that you haven't even planned out or thought about yet! When is the date? Where did you get your dress? What does it look like? But here's the thing: no one asks how you are doing.  Here is my hot take: society has made weddings so impractical and unreasonable that any bride-to-be feels overwhelmed. Everythi...
