She was the girl who never got the full opportunity of loving someone with her whole heart. Before any relationship could blossom, guys always ran in fear of the unknown. They jumped into something too fast, fell too hard, and too deep, so they ran away. They ran her around this never-ending cycle, a rollercoaster of emotions, and she was growing tired. She was a fresh new pair of shoes. Guys always put her on and showed her off. Over time, she would get worn out, messy, and eventually thrown out and wholly taken for granted.
She never felt like a first-place prize. She was always silver, never gold. She came so close but always fell short. Every time someone let her down, she locked herself away to feel everything burning and breaking her heart. So much travesty for one young woman. So many tear-soaked pillowcases, worn-out tissues, and empty wine bottles. It was an endless cycle of heartbreak, of not feeling worthy enough of someone’s love.
Despite all of this hurt, hardship, and sorrow, she never gave up on who she was and where she was heading. She knew she had this spark that would lighten any soul who searched for the light in the darkness. She was a match on fire. In these times of obscurity, she would lose her flame, but she always ignited herself back up. She was a warrior, a true image of strength. She knew what she wanted, and from that insisting moment in time, she would do great things in her life. One day, she would place first, get the gold, and stand on the highest point of the pedestal. She was not giving up. She was going to keep loving, no matter what the cost.
